Akcent is a multi-certified, award-winning, Romanian, dance-pop act, followed by over 3,5 million fans from all over the world. Akcent’s music videos generated over 1 billion views online, while various songs have been added to dance compilations and/or released as a single by different major recording labels; to name a few, labels like Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and Ministry of Sound.
Adrian Sina is a Romanian singer, songwriter, producer and TV personality. He started his singing career as the lead component of the chart-topping band – Akcent, now being its sole remaining member.
Akcent’s first hit single was “Ti-am promis”, was released in 2001 and was included in their debut album – “In culori”, which was certified with Platinum in less than a month from its release.
A string of local hits followed shortly with the band, making its international debut in 2006 with “Kylie”, the English version of the band’s #1 hit – “Dragoste de inchiriat”. “Kylie” became an international chart-topper in countries such as Netherlands, France, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Greece and Russia.
“True Believers” (2009), the artist’s follow-up album, included hits such as “That’s My Name”, “Stay With Me” and “Lover’s Cry”, all produced by Adrian Sina, the mastermind behind the band. The international success of the album brought them the Best Duet/Group Award at the Balkan Music Awards, in 2009, while “That’s My Name” and “Stay With Me” were released in regions such as the US (through UltraRecords) and Scandinavia (through Warner Music Group). The singles were also included on the “Just Dance: Vol 3” compilation album released by The Island Def Ham Music Group in 2010.
Akcent’s following single, “My Passion”, made it into the #32 spot on the KNHC Seattle and into WA FM’s radio station top of 2012 New Year’s countdown.
The band saw a total rebranding in 2013, with Adrian being the sole remaining member, releasing its 11th studio album and super hit – “Kamelia” soon after. The album was a breath of fresh air, making Adrian one of the most successful Romanian artists, while also making “Kamelia” one of the biggest hits to date, topping the charts all-over South-East Europe, Middle East and India.
Akcent’s latest studio effort, “Love The Show”, a visual album released in 2016, included hits such as “Amor Gitana” and “Serai”.
2017 was an incredible year for Akcent, with concerts in countries such as Turkey, Pakistan, UAE, Russia, SUA and more, alongside international collaboration which gathered tens of millions of online views.
The band’s latest release, “Si Me Quieres”, in collaboration with the beloved Romanian artist, Nicole Cherry, amassed more than 2 million streams on online platforms.
